jackian
We are expecting a thunderstorm later this evening and it is already here in Buckinghamshire looking a bit grim. What are my girls going to be like in a storm ? will they be Ok? Will they hide?
Patricia W
Mine take absolutely NO notice whatsoever. If it's in the daytime, the only reaction is to take shelter from the rain. At night - nothing, and I have some outside perchers so they aren't all tucked away. I'm not that far away (Oxfordshire) so maybe we'll be in the same storm! Ain't Nobody Here
They may well want to shelter from the rain but probably won't be bothered by it otherwise .
Chortle Chook
Surprisingly, while my dogs cower and pant, my chooks seem not in the least bothered. They do go for shelter once the rain pelts down but they don't seem to sence it coming at all.

percy049
Not unless you want them to . . . think of those big poos with white on the top Or the mustardy stinky ones! My mum thinks they smell like tea bags! Whatever it is, its disgusting! Our girls eventually go under shelter in the rain. after a while, they get bored and come out again. One of my girls calls all the time shes in the shelter
gongladosh
Morning 'monster poo' tends to be so bad that the hens don't want to be near it... This morning, our 2nd-in-command, Barnaby came out of the Cube and out of the run. The weather was not good... She looked around, looked at the sky, then at my wife and then she went back in to bed. Bit of a non-starter today for the hens really...
bouldercroft
My silly girls were sitting in the WIR on the top perch watching the worse thunder and lightning I've ever seen that was associated with a tornado warning! I ended up putting them to bed in the mostly for my peace of mind...they slept through the whole thing!
