Olly
Yes, I have a Daisybelle too and she looks just like that. Not sure what the 'cross' is, though - Black Rock and something ?
hammy72
she looks like a 'negative' of my light sussex who is white with black feathers around the neck, sorry can't help with the ID but love the pics
migsy
Not nearly as chunky as a Sussex.
sjp
a daisybelle is a silver sussex based hybrid with either a rhode island red or a bared rock or both in the mix Daisybelles were one of meadowsweet's range but they no longer list them on their web site
chickencam
We have just bought one just like her today and she was described as a silver sussex I think probably a Rhode Island crossed with a sussex.
francesca88
That looks a lot like a Pied Suffolk - I had one, she laid huuuuge eggs. Lost her to old age a few weeks ago, she was brilliant
doctors girls
her eggs are slightly smaller than the 2 sussex that i have and they are white does any body know about the nature of these birds
Olly
Well, mine is rather noisy! I actually took her on from someone who lived in a very built-up area and was worried about the early morning shouting, I don't think that's characteristic of the breed, though, it's just this chicken. She lays pale, smooth eggs - more buff/pale beige than white.
UKMARCH
Hi, mine is called Maud she looked a lot like yours when she was young now is much more chunky, she's not keen on being touched but is now friendly and feeds from your hand and is one the first to jump up on the shelf for a treat. She is also always on the alert and is quiet often setting off the alarm luckily our neighbours don't mind too much! She is laying large eggs now which are a creamy colour and although she is going through the moult and not looking her best she is still laying most days! JanTheDiver
She is identical to my Tikka who was sold to us as a Dark Sussex. Lovely bird, lots of pale coloured eggs approx 66g each, really nice temperament.
