My First Ebay "non payer"? Update

Recommended Posts

It is unfair, but they will get a non paying bidder strike against them, which,if they get another, could see them suspended.

After a few days check back on your case via the resolution centre, & see when you can close it & get your fees back.

Don't be tempted to close it early,as the buyer will benefit & not get their deserved strike :D

Well, s/he didn't pay! I opened a case on Sunday after she'd had 9 days to pay (and/or respond to my emails) and another 4 days since I opened the case and no response, so I've just closed the case, don't see any point in waiting any longer, very annoying. Just hope I don't get a stroppy email from them now (though they've had long enough to pay, in my view) :?

Did you know that you can block certain buyers from bidding on your items? No, I did'nt until E-bay told me during one of those horrible 'webchats  '!! Its to do with' site preferences' so you can click on that and block those who have a certain number of unpaids against them, those wilth certain feedback profiles etc. It may cut down on the 'bid base' but could avoid any more hassle!

I have sold around 50 items over the last year - not much really just things we have outgrown/don't need - it has certainly opened my eyes to the human psyche!!! Most buyers/sellers are lovely but the odd few can be real pains in the bottom  ! Don't let it put you off, though :P !

I did a post about this a little while ago as there were so many people having problems, and then I had a pain of a buyer here

Also, as a seller another thing to bear in mind is keeping a close eye on your ratings (the stars you get for postage delivery comm etc) I was on the forum yesterday about something else and someone had got banned from ebay as their postage one was too low. They said they had no warning, the I think ebay feel the stars rating being low is your warning. So you have been, err, warned!
