I have a cube with three girls in it at the moment going up to six at the end of this month :D . In the 3m fox proof run and their large play pen (not fox proof & open to the elements) I have play bark on the floor which the girls like s"Ooops, word censored!"ping up but I have found out that I shouldn't use this, but am not sure why. I read that the girls should have wood chip if using wood products at all.

Can anyone give an explanation to the above, but also I am looking for a better flooring in both runs so any suggestions would be helpful. They have eaten all the grass in the play pen and I can't move the cube to anywhere else (the play pen takes up most of our garden).

Any comments appreciated.

Thanks

Jan

Hiya - woodchip (soft or hard) is much better as it doesn't harbour germs and mould and can be easily washed - it also doesn't turn into mulch quite so quickly so lasts far longer - I use hard and softwood chip on my girls' runs.

Try B&Q for softwood chip or your local tree surgeon for hardwoodchip there's a site online (if you search 'hardwood chip' in google it may come up) and they deliver for free to most postcodes with a reasonable price - I think £10 for a cubic metre!
