LolaLayla
My DS sat his Highers this year and the results are out tomorrow! I am keeping everything crossed for him and starting to feel a bit anxious......anyone else in the same position?
chickencam
Oooh good luck, we will be going through this with AS results for ED and 1 GCSE result for DS later this month.
Ain't Nobody Here
Yes . My stomach lurches every time I think about it and it's not even my results we're getting, it's YS's . If he gets 4 B's he might get an unconditional place for the course he wants .
chickencam
Good luck to him too.
percy049
I can go get my results 10:00 on the 25th!
Ain't Nobody Here
Can't believe it . The SQA have messed up and sent out results by text a day early BY MISTAKE to 29,000 students . Thankfully, we were one of the lucky ones . I also can't believe YS's results ......... 3 As and 1 B . Poor chap doesn't even know yet as he's doing conservation work on Ben Lomond and won't be expecting a text from me yet .
sparkysmum
Absolutely brilliant ANH We have to wait till tomorrow when Jonathan gets his highers and Ant gets his standard grades & int 2's
Ain't Nobody Here
What a shame, I hope you get goods news tomorrow . It's weird, I don't feel I can share it with any of my friends here as their kids probably won't have got theirs (my nephew hasn't) . LolaLayla
My DS got his by text today which was a huge shock. He is not too happy with the results However he will be able to build on what he has got in 6th year. Oh the joys of motherhood
LolaLayla
Also meant to say, well done to your son ANH you must be so delighted for him. You will have to celebrate when he gets back
Ain't Nobody Here
Sorry to hear that, LL . Good that he has one more year to pull it back though. We were in the same boat with ES 2 years ago so I know how you feel .
LolaLayla
Thanks ANH. He seems a bit happier now. He has looked at courses he could do with what he has already so it is not all bad. It is hard when some of his friends have got good results and he feels he put in the same effort but it didn't work so well for him. Also he compares himself to his older siblings who found things easier. Never mind come 18th August all the work starts again.
ubereglu
It's horrible when you're waiting for results, I've still got a 2 week wait for mine and I am just a little terrified...AHHHHH!!! I think the only advantage of not getting the higher resutls you need is the fact you then have 2 weeks to research what other options you could do, whereas with A levels you don't have that option. Good luck to everyone who's waiting for results, I know just how nerve-wracking it is!
Ain't Nobody Here
I'm so glad our wait is over (although still haven't managed to get hold of YS so he's still waiting ). I'll have my fingers and toes crossed for all of you waiting for your results .
Ain't Nobody Here
I still can't get hold of YS to tell him his results . His mobile must be out of range (or the silly boy's let the battery die) so he's not responded to my messages and dozens of missed calls . He may be clever enough to get 3 As and a B but will he work out how to get in touch with me without his mobile ?
nelliemif
So how did it go? Success? My youngest gets AS results soon - why is it that parents get as stressed as, if not more than, the kids?! What ever happens with results, things will work out - maybe not exactly as planned but maybe the plan was unrealistic. My middle one didn't get what he needed for his first choice at uni so deffered his second choice, took a gap year, worked for 6 months (to save up), went to africa to work for a charity for 3 months, had a long relaxing summer. Now he's loving 2nd choice uni even though its what he thought he didn't want!! Good luck - hugs all round, Nell
Seagazer
Good luck to everyone waiting for results and well done to ANH's YS. Usually things sort themselves out and you can work around results if they aren't quite what the young person was hoping for. My ES was/is a lazy so and so and didn't study at all for his GCSE's, he went to 6th form literally because he had no idea what to do. Had to retake his maths as he'd got a D , retook it and got a C without studying again. He actually left 6th form as he hated it and got an apprenticeship, which he has just finished. How he's managed to pass his exams at college I don't know as, yes you've guessed it, he didn't study. I do despair at times but he's working and that's great. sparkysmum
Still waiting, oh the agony. The head boy and girl & a couple of others in our school were on telly this morning. The post office had to get their results for them by 7 am so they could do the interviews. They all did brilliantly I could never, ever have let Jonathan do that. It would just all have been tooooooooooooo much Hope your laddie gets in touch soon Vicki. How can you keep this all to yourself
sparkysmum
Oh and I meant to say. Guess who was up just after 4am, cleaning windows doing dishes, seeing to the hens. You've guessed it and who were lying in their beds oblivious to it all. Yes, right again It's def worse for us Have baked a choc cake. Either to celebrate or comfort food Alli x
sparkysmum
Got the results, everyone's delighted Jonathan's thinking about going to uni this year via clearance & not go back for a 6th year. Anthony's delighted with his too. Hope fingers crossed for everyone else. Alli x

ali-s
DD got her standard Grade and Int 2 results today. All very good grades She got a grade 2 in Chemistry her most hated subject, she failed Chemistry in the prelims. Her Chemistry teacher said that if she got a grade 3 she would run round the school screaming and waving her arms about DD can't wait for the first day back at school to see that Well done to every one who has received their results and good luck to those still waiting. Ain't Nobody Here
Well done, Alli's boys and ali-s's DD . My nephew got what he needed to get into Uni . I eventually got a call from YS - his phone battery was dead . He eventually borrowed a charger (lucky to find one on Ben Lomond ).
chickencam
I presume that he was justifyably proud of himself?
Ain't Nobody Here
He's the master of understatement, my YS . I was gushing and saying how proud we were and how fantastically he'd done and when I asked him if he was happy he just said "yes" . He did admit he was surprised to have got an A in English (so was I ).
