Can't sleep - any tips please!

Recommended Posts

Cathy's stretches and gloopy toes worked for me to get to sleep at first but not now. Just too much to think about and I made the mistake of doing some concentrating work just before going to sleep (working out travel and expenses for month at last minute  )

Now kitten is running round room with my ball of wool, perhaps if I concentrate on that image I'll get another hour

Where is the best place to buy earplugs? Chemists? I have a heavy snorer of a husband who also can;t sleep without the radio blaring and it has driven me mad for the 24 years that we have lived together.

I use the child's (I have small ear canals) flight earplugs from Boots and find that they fit very well. I also use them as ear defence for festivals/loud bars. I have a pair on my bedside table and one in my toiletry bag for travelling.

They sell adult ones too.

I just buy bog standard foam ones from the chemist. There is a knack to putting them in. You have to squash them till they are like narrow tubes & then pull your ear up & out. This straightens out the canal. Then insert the ear plug. Hold it in place for at least 30 secs. It will then expand to fit :!: & hopefully stay in place. You can get all sorts of super expensive plugs, I think they are called "entymotic" but the foam ones are cheap as cheese :D Hope this helps. My friend told me a tip that sounds silly but it works every time for me!

Think of any topic eg flowers/dogs/music etc Start with A for Aster, B for bluebell, C for crocus and so on.By the time I've got to F I'm asleep! It's worked every time for me. Simple but effective!
