Chickendoodle
I have just smashed and completely ruined my Kitchenaid Blender - fell onto a stone floor and too broken to recover Seeing the comments on here about the Bamix blender I am wondering if I should replace it with one of those rather than a new liquidiser as I am a bit short of space in my kitchen. I have a food processer as well so things like making breadcrumbs will still be OK. I make a lot of soups and would appreciate knowing how good the Bamix is at pureeing soups in the saucepan - is there a limit on the amount it can do? Does it splash all over the walls? I did find the liquidiser a bit of a faff with having to transfer hot soup into it in batches and then transfer it back to another saucepan so that I could get the rest in. Is there anyting you can think of that I won't be able to do with a food processer/Bamix combination rather than a food processer/liquidiser combo? Also, is really worth paying out for the Bamix - is another brand just as good. I would rather pay out for a really good one that will last but don't want to spend needlessly Thanks
LolaLayla
I know I have seen a lot of people on here saying how good it is but I have had a problem with mine from a few months into ownership. It is probably about 8 years old, and I find that if I blend soup the metal piece whizzes off and I have to fish about in the soup for it I have spoken to demonstrators at various shows about this. They do not seem surprised when I mention it and just say to get pliers to close the gap on the piece My OH has done this but it soon does this again. My son occasionally uses it now if he is making batter but I have given up on it I have just got a Vitamix, (which I know is very expensive) it is unbelievably good. IMHO I would not waste money on a Bamix.
craftyhunnypie
Thumbs up for the Vitamix! I fancied a Bamix, but made do with a cheap stick blender before the Vitamix - worked fine. Emma.x
TutuTallulah
I can't comment on a Vitamix as I don't have one but those who have I have a liquidiser attachment for my kenwood chef which I NEVER use. It sits in my kitchen cupboard never seeing the light of day - too much of a faff getting it out, setting it up, blending in batches (you are totally right here!) and then taking it apart to wash it up before reassembling in to put it away... I have a Bamix blender and I love it! I have a 'Gordon Ramsey' special edition one, which I think is a little more powerful than the basic model. I use it for everything - crushing ice, whipping cream, blending soup (does this equally as well as my liquidiser). It will also make breadcrumds, chop herbs, nuts etc and even grind coffee beans in an attachment you get with it. One rinse under the tap and I pop it back in my kitchen drawer. No contest for me - Bamix! Ps. I did have a cheapy 'stick blender' before and it was no comparison to the Bamix. Hope this helps x
Chickendoodle
Thanks. Can't run to a Vitamix but invested in a Bamix at the weekend. Made some soup and chopped some breadcrumbs Very impressed so far and it looks as though it will replace my food processor as well which will help with the space issue.
