Egluntyne
I think one of my girls must be moulting. When I went to let them out to play in the garden I noticed that one run was full of black feathers...there must be over 100! It does look like there has been an explosion in a pillow factory! Intriguingly, no-one looks bedraggled or injured, and they all seem to be friends so I don't think there has been a fight. However, Kentucky, the one who was broody a week or so ago lives there so could her haywire hormones have caused a moult??
Jules.
Don't know the answer to your question, but will you keep the feathers & use them for something?
Egluntyne
No...I don't fancy it somehow....anyway it would mean me getting on my hands and knees and crawling about the run. Unless you want to send Alexander over.....he would fit nicely, and then you can have the feathers to make a duster, or a boa!

I have some pics of him I took last week, he was in the run scrubbibg all the dust & aubiose off the grey part of the door He didn't want to wear marigolds, so I scrubbed his hands thoroughly afterwards. I just need to get my card reader sorted out so I can upload them to show you all the latest Eglu technotronic cleaner. I hire him out at £10/hour

Snowy
I find small children have many uses when it comes to eglus and getting into the runs!! I'm surprised how many feathers they can lose without any noticeable difference in their appearance though! Poor Fizz was jumped by Big Bertha the other day, Bertha pulled an enormous clump of feathers off Fizz's back, but I can't find the spot they came from at all, thank goodness! Egluntyne
It is definitely Kentucky who is moulting.....her frilly knickers are looking very ragged today and there are feathers EVERYWHERE!
