I've got a job!!

Recommended Posts

You are doing the right thing!

You need to start doing something for yourself now. They will always need you but I am sure you will all enjoy your new independence. And the extra cash will be appreciated by all too - make sure you spend as much as you can from your first wage packet on yourself however tempting it is to treat your young ones as well.

:D:D:D:D

I agree with Gina - I worked for a a good few years at my local Tesco - absolutely terrible employers, but there's nothing better than a cup of coffee and a good gossip with your co-workers during your tea break!

Congratulations Rebecca

You will love it

I have to say I was going to give up work at some point this year and become a stay at home mum, but I really don't want to. I like going to work, having a routine and being with other people and the money's nice as well :D

I work from home at any time that suits me and the family. With 4 children I can't see how I'd cope with a 'proper' job - but I know others do.

But, I have been at home now for 18 years and I think I am missing out on adult company. I am bored, I eat too much and my routine has completely disappeared. I just muddle through every day really!

Going out to work would mean giving up the work I do though, which I love and I'm good at. So I'm not planning to change anything! Although our finances would benefit massively if I did. :(

I hope you enjoy your job Rebecca - and if you don't, you can always leave!

Congratulations Rebecca -I remember being very unsure when I started work again after my two first went to school but it was absolutely the right thing to do - you get to be Rebecca again in your own right, not just as someones Mum and all that adult converation!! PLus the extra pennies are great too. So go for it girl!! :D:D:D:D

Well done Rebecca - nothing like the confidence boost it gives you when you haven't been in the job market for a while! :D Just enjoy it and don't take it too seriously, as someone said you can always leave if it's not right, but go for it !

Have just read through all these and am worried now - I gave up full time work at 38 to have my last 2 children and after all those years of hard graft can't ever imagine going back :? Are you saying that one day I might actually want to??:lol: Actually, yes I can imagine waking up one day and thinking, yes it's time to get a job - probably when I'm 65!! 8)
