Around this time last year I posted about a young police officer who was viciously knifed in Ealing and although serious assaults on police are becoming the norm I can't believe it's happened again. Two more young officers with life changing injuries. We were in Kingsbury yesterday and although it is an annoying and random place this is out of the blue.

Just seen this on the news, 4 officers stabbed, one in the stomach, I thought all police wore stab vests...

How awful . I hope they'll be OK .

Fred, yes they do have stab vests but I think they're primarily designed to protect the heart, lungs and kidneys. The vests sit quite high, around the waist. I'd like them to be better protected but its not practical and I think they try to keep the look of the more traditional policeman's uniform.

Very sad that people can do this to people who are just doing their job.

That is absolutely grotesque. There seems to be such a lot of anti-police sentiment in the country and its really unjustified. Yes there have been some scandals in the past and a small minority have let the force down but that is the same for most sectors of society.

 

Really sad news, hope the victims get better soon.

Same with nurses and doctors minority let the majority down - I get really cross when I read of nurses neglecting the elderly - I want to go and give em a piece of my mind - wouldnt have happened in my day - showing my age here

If anyone feels so inclined there is now an Government e-petition 'Arm all frontline officers with tasers'. I think if the signatures reach 100,000 then it could be discussed in Parliament.

I agree to this because my son has been taken to hospital three times as the result of violent assaults, I don't want him to have worse injuries.

I have signed the e-petition, I agree that these brave people should be able to defend themselves from attack.
