dancing cloud
What lucky little girls (and what gorgeous other chooks too) . So good to see them tucking in to the food and water with such enthusiasm!
TAJ
3 eggs today (so far, now 4 again!) - they turned into eating machines yesterday afternoon - they were out in the run all day and ate and drunk a lot. This morning (for the first time) They were actually scratching in the bedding on the run floor, plus preening their feathers (what they have!) - to see them actually stretching out their wings and cleaning like 'normal chickens' in such a short time is amazing. Plum
That must have been so good to see. Bless them
TAJ
What a difference a week makes! They have now had 7 sleeps here. We have had 24 eggs from them in a week, so 6 from each hen in 7 days (save your energy girls and grow some feathers!) Some pin feathers are coming through, they now have roosting bars in the Eglu, eating from a hanging feeder, scratching in the run and hoping up on a perch. Let's hope those feathers come through soon - they have been fine with the odd frosty night, but I would be happier if I knew they were fully insulated by feathers. The Dogmother
Try them on some Biotin Tracy - add it to their feed. That's great for feathering them up. You can get it from most equine feed stores.
TAJ
New video 2 months on! They arrived early Jan, so not quite 2 months, but a good improvement. Some more pin feathers coming through and look at that 'normal' chciken behaviour - eating grass and having a dust bath. One now has a full fluffy bum, but still needs more feathers in other places.
