Off to China!

Recommended Posts

I am so excited I booked yesterday for me and DD to go to China for 11 days in 8 weeks today  We were looking at it, hubby didn't want to go, so we decided to go without him (which is very brave for me going abroad without him). It is with a small Chinese ownned tour company based in London - we do the usual sites, but also do a few more extra bits. It is 11 days and we do Beiging, Xi'an and 3 days on the Yangtze river, including the three gorges dam, which DD is studying as part of her A level geography (obviously this makes it a needed educational trip!)

I have been to China 8 years ago - treking the Great Wall for Cancer Research UK (raised £5,500), then a day in Beijing and 2 days in Xi'an, so it will be good to do some more tourist things this time & to stay in hotels, not basic lodges, plus nothaving a years training.

Hubby will be in charge of chickens for 11 days.

Wow, how exciting 8):D . Can't believe your OH didn't want to go  . Just as well though, really, he's needed at home  .

I think he was a tad surprised when we suggested we still went without him - apart from charity trek & 1 weekend in Disney Paris I haven't been away on holiday without him in 30 years!

Obviously it is a cost saving if we leave him at home and means the 20 chickens and 2 cats get looked after. I am going on a very basic 38ft wooden sailing boat with him for 8 nights in late July (without daughter) so it is not as though he isn't doing the holiday he wants to do and trust me when I say basic I mean it 6 people all in together, no cabins and sailing.

How fantastic I would be very excited too...

Mmmm your OH is very lucky to have you go with him on that sailing trip.....I will not be telling my OH about that as I've avoided going on an overnight jolly to France on a friend's much larger and more luxurious yacht for about 3 years now!!!
