My mum will be 65 next week and has booked herself and a friend on a luxury cruise.

 

I have a idea to make up a present of things that will be useful for the cruise.

I have ordered some smellies with Boots 3 for 2 offers and now thinking of some other things

i could buy to make up the bundle.

Any ideas what would be useful - They need to be reasonably cheap as i am a poor student

Have a look at the smaller travel sizes that they do in Boots - very useful and not expensive either.

Does she have a camera? If not, then boots do really cheap disposable cameras; if she does, then is there enough space on it for all the snaps she will want to take? I think you can get sd cards really cheaply now.

Just what I was going to say - I believe they may be on a 6 for 5 offer in Boots or Tesco at the moment too.

 

A travel must have (IMHO) are THESE clear plastic bags from M&S

They are very useful & also double as the way to carry any liquids in her hand luggage if she has to fly anywhere.

They come in various glam trims like silver,gold & hot pink too

How about a waterproof disposable camera, magazines, travel sickness pills, puzzle books, some info printed off the internet about the places they are visiting ?

There is some very cute nautical jewellery about at the moment too - I saw a gorgeous little anchor necklace in Accessorize

I have found a nautical themed tote bag I shall have a look around town for some of suggestions.

My daughter bought me a travel journal for my holiday, it was lovely to record what we did each day, I'd never remember and I would assume on a cruise she will be somewhere different everyday. Think binoculars are a great idea too.

I have found some binoculars on Amazon and some collapsible drinks bottles which i thought

would be good for the shore vists.

so i have:

Tote bag

travel smellies

binoculars

drinks bottle

 

I will look for a note pad and some nautical themed jewellery and scarf.

I might put some water wings in as a joke.

I think I have one at home, quite small and has contacts on the bottom which light it up when it's in the water - you can have it if you want.

Depending where she is going a small bottle of sunscreen might be useful (one she can put in her bag for shore visits?)

Hope she has a lovely time
