Henergy
Can I ask a daft question - I was just looking at the Flubenvet 1% on the SPR website. If you buy the 10kg bag is that concentration of wormer the same as if you'd mixed it yourself ? And how long do you feed it for ?
heth1986
Are you meaning the marriages pellets with flubenvet? If so then yes, I believe it is the correct concentration, you just feed the pellets on their own for 7 days and the chooks will 'dose themselves' so to speak. If I've understood you wrong then sorry!
Redwing
A 60g pot of the 1% Flubenvet will treat 20kg of pellets Better value still is the 2.5% 100g pot but they are harder to find The pre-dosed Marriages pellets have the right amount of the drug in
Lewis
Flubenvet have been taken over by Elanco and the price is set to rise so I'd get it sooner rather than later
Henergy
How many days do I feed it ? I'm thinking a 10kg bag would do 4 chickens - does that sound right ?
Chucky Mama
7 days
Duncan08
How many days do I feed it ? I'm thinking a 10kg bag would do 4 chickens - does that sound right ? I bought the ready mixed, 10 kilo bag for my five girls, they probably ate about 6kgs feed over 7 days.
Chucky Mama
Sorry, I only answered half of your question You should be able to do 4 out of 10kg. You should be able to do them a couple of times fingers crossed
WitchHazel
You should be able to do them a couple of times fingers crossed ..but check the use-by date on the pellets.

Very good point, some people have had bags with very short use by dates
Henergy
Just ordered my Flubenvet & dropped a couple of bags of feed into order for the same delivery charge. I've always used Vermex but think now we have puppy too that I should 'get tough'
Duncan08
Mine had a very short use by date, but I gave the rest of the bag to my Aunt who only has 4 girls. So it worked out well between us. I too had always used Verm X but after reading some of the threads "upgraded" to the Flubenvet. One of my new girls came with some yucky red worms, she was too young to have had any at the breeders, will have missed their regular dosing times. I had given them both Verm X when they arrived, but it didn't make much difference. The Flubenvet seems to have worked a treat, no sign of any more. The Dogmother
Glad to hear it just keep up a regular routine and they'll be OK
heth1986
I think I'm being daft, I can't see anywhere on the Flubenvet packaging how often you're meant to worm? Is it every month like Ver-X or is there a different time period with Flubenvet?
The Dogmother
You're suppose to worm quarterly for the best effect.

alligg
I have just started mine on the pellets with flubenvet,I ordered them from farmandpetplace.co.uk they rang after ordering to go through how to feed for how long etc.they said ignore the use by date and as long as it is stored in a sealed container it would be ok to keep for next time.it worked out better to get the 20k bag so I do not have to pay 2 lots of postage when I come to order again.
