amys garden
Well we've nearly had our feathery lot for a month now I love having them... However some of there behaviour still puzzles me Like why are they still roaming about the garden even though it's raining Won't they get poorly? Should I keep them shut in there little coup/run? Silly Hens! Pffffff
heth1986
Mine have spent all day out in the pouring rain too they're ridiculous... or rather clever, I'm pretty sure they've had a bit of a worm feast up there today, there's been some very excited clucks! I wouldn't worry about them getting poorly, they're hardier than we let ourselves think. As long as they've somewhere mud free and dry to get into i'm sure they'll be absolutely fine (although I did rub mine down with a towel before bed... completely unnecessary but it made me feel better! ) Silly chooks. amys garden
They've got some nice big bushes they like to hang out in that always stay dry Think you may be right about the worms My OH put them to bed tonight bless him but I'd definitely do the towel thing! Trust it to rain before there new coup/run arrives! I'm planning to cover the run...
jackian
Although my 3 girls have a large sheltered WIR with food and water to shelter in , they prefered to be in the rain sometimes under the large garden "sun " umbrella ..Little Rosie though bless her was under a garden chair with slats in ..But at times guilt got the better of me and I went running into their WIR with meal worms and locked them in for a while till the rain slowed down .They know just know how to get meal worms.... tug at my heart strings
