house destroyed in Cheltenham

Recommended Posts

This looks quite dramatic (and sounded it even a mile away. http://www.itv.com/news/west/story/2012-05-10/gas-explosion-in-cheltenham/ and http://www.itv.com/news/update/2012-05-10/scene-of-the-gas-explosion-in-cheltenhan/

The house has completely gone - it looks like an old lady was taken out injured to hospital - I am amazed anyone got out - there is just nothing left of the house.

Interesting such a devastating explosion didn't make the main news. I do hope she's ok.

It only happened just before 8pm last night, but it was on the national news on the telly this morning, with a reporter on site.

This morning they have said her injuries are not life treatening - there is nothing left of the house - amazing she has survived.

So lucky she actually survived when you see these photos it seems impossible. My OH was out cycling and was pretty close at the time and heard the explosion very loudly. At home we had a few short power cuts, but I still cannot believe how this house has just disappeared.

Had a shock to see this last night... we used to have friends that lived in Rosehill Street.

We've lost touch over the years but I hope they are okay.

Had MIL to stay for the past couple of days- she lives in Cheltenham and said that many years ago, her Granddad used to live in the same street too.

What a day for Cheltenham!

Well it seems that our town is somewhat newsworthy today, we now have a house cordoned off about a mile from me because explosives were found in the garage, so much for boring suburbia

not sure this will work but here goes.

And now they have been arrested on anti-terrorism charges, not just explosives charges!
