yankeecelt
Morning all. My neighbour has taken down some leylandii pine trees and we've shredded them quite small. Is there anything wrong with using them around the chooks? Other than the mess they will inevitably make when they scratching around, I mean. I've got three ISA hens - nothing fancy (yet... ), who thus far have been pretty indestructible. Thanks on behalf of Muriel, Edna, and Camilla
Plum
My girls eat leylandii I don't know of any reason not to use the woodchip, bet there's lots of insects in there they would love.
Gelbel
When we trimmed our laylandii style 'thing' in our front garden (the people who had this place before us had some very strange ideas ) we shredded the larger branches for our girls. We kept back some of the smaller 'fronds' and laid them all over the floor of their run, 'leaves, twig and all. We actually managed to save some of these smaller bits from the elements so they provide hours of fun over about 2 months. Went down a treat with my lot.
