Chortle Chook
I don't seem able to resize on Photobucket at all now and the whole thing goes really really slowly. Is this just my lap top / bb connection or is it Photobucket giving up the ghost? I'm worried because I've been using it as my main photo store and I'm scared of losing my pictures. Duncan08
I've been struggling too, finally found the way to resize but it won't save.
sjp
I haven't used the re size for a while as I crop any photos I post but for the last few months I'm lucky if I can edit more than 2 photos a session before it starts to play up it's almost as if the system forgets to empty the buffer. it only started to do this after they started upgrading last year
chickencam
I have given up with photobucket and started using flickr instead, although I am not sure what I will do when I want to change my avatar, because the only way I know how is through photobucket Is there a way to directly post photos from flickr does anyone know? I only know how to copy and paste links.
Chortle Chook
All of a sudden yesterday Photobucket seemed to perk up and get back to how it used to be. I can now re-size However just in case it all goes pear shaped again and Omleteers would like to post small photos on their threads, you can save your pictures as clickable links and this makes perfectly visible but not ginormous pictures. People don't have to click on them to see them - but they can click on them to make them large. To save as a clickable link Bring up the album in photobucket and there is a blue options bar along the bottom of each picture. Click on share and it brings up a new box The third tab in the new box is "get link code" the last item on there is the link code. Copy and paste that code into your Omlet post. Thanks to Duncan08 for this info which I've taken from his post in the chicken area entitled 'New Pekins'
Duncan08
Thanks to Duncan08 for this info which I've taken from his post in the chicken area entitled 'New Pekins' I am a girl, well an old girl, female - I use my dogs name Duncan a lot as a username - it does cause confusion. On a diet forum once we were discussing our "Aims" for our weightloss - I posted how I wanted to be able to zip up my knee length boots, it certainly raised a few eyebrows I just tried photobucket again and it is working for me now too. Chortle Chook
Your knee boots story reminds me of a Punch advert of a little naked woman standing in welly boots with her husband saying 'When I said 'boots' I did not mean those boots'
soapdragon
Feeling IT challenged again ! Well done to all those who cope so brilliantly with all this 'new fangled' stuff - I don't even know what it is !!!!!! Dreading returning to work after Easter next year when YS goes to school - who wants a techno-dinosaur! And I'm only 47 ! My mother (78) was having huge probs with her comp and, in a fit of pique, gave up and went out into the garden to hack at something just as a young lad was passing. She, in a moment of inspiration, called out 'young man, do you know anything about computers dear?' The teenager in question ended up helping her out and got things working again ! Apparently, she gave him £2.00, a glass of milk and slice of cake and said he seemed quite happy - bless them both
Chortle Chook
Don't worry about technology, Soapdragon. The 2 things to remember are 1. never be afraid to click - it won't blow up 2. if you don't get something out of it, then forget it. There are technological gismos for all needs from surgical to ultra geeky, "Ooops, word censored!"ody can use every gismo.
