He is very handsome and such a gent When he goes to the great meal worm factory in the sky, I'll get another as he really adds something to my little flock. Chortle Chook
Glad silkie boys are good. I am one more day closer to getting them. Dare i ask, how loud is your cockerel chubby chook I don't find him very loud at all and have heard others that are much noisier and shriller (one of my neighbours has a very shrill little Pekin cockerel). However Dill does have rather an odd, slightly strangled, crow. He does a sort of 'cock a do' but never adds the 'oodle do'. At first I found his little voice a bit annoying early in the morning because he does not just crow the once but will crow off and on in the early morning, from about 5.00 am at this time of year (though never as repeatedly as some I have read about). I have now become completely used to it, and so, luckily, have my neighbours (I live in a Victorian terraced house). One of my neighbours said that right from the beginning when they looked out of the window he was so pretty that they felt they could forgive him for waking them up.
