An expensive present for chickens ?

Recommended Posts

I went to the garden centre yesterday and in their chicken bit they had a very nice vegetable holder.

It had a red top and springy body and you put any veg through the lid.

BUT it was 14.99

I though that was quite expensive, but my Mum did offer to buy it for me but I decided it was still expensive so she didn't.

It was a proper make - the name I can't remember - something like happy chicken company ?

Has anyone got one ?

I thought I might put it on my Christmas List, as by then all 5 (2+3) chickens should be playing nicely together and I thought this might be big enough for them to all fit round / under :D

Sounds expensive but perhaps a perfect thing to pop on a Christmas list! Not sure my girls would appreciate it though. In the last week I have hung an apple in a springy holder, not touched, chopped it up and hung it in the feeder, still not touched. Hung greens, nope, tried a Pecka block, er still nope, and the boredom busting cds... Not a chance! Think I have weird chickens!! Xxx

Is this it?

The fact you can take the lid off to pop food in looks really handy, but I agree it's quite expensive! Looks a great size, though, so maybe a Xmas present idea would be a good idea :)

Yes, that's the one. I meant to reply sooner but with everything that's been going on I'd forgotten about this post. Thanks.

I think these look excellent and I really want to get one for my chickens. For some reason my chickens have got rather on the heffty side (chubby chooks indeed) :eh: so OH and I have decided that they need to work a bit more for their treats rather then having them dished up in convenient saucers. I can just about justify the cost of these things to myself but the P&P of nearly £4 on a c£14.00 item is pushing it. Does anyone know where I can buy one in the real world, rather than online?
