dixie chick
Probably not the most best choice of forum to get an unbiased answer but I need a plastic hen house urgently this week and am torn between the Cube- and the Green Frog one which is nearly £90 cheaper. Does anyone have experience of the Green Frog Chicken loft? Am just thinking it doesn't look as easy to clean as the Cube.... but it looks good - and seems to have a bit more space. At the end of the day it may be the one that can be delivered earliest!
wannabe smallholder
I looked into the greenfrog and nearly bought one until I saw the Arkus coops at the farm I bought my chickens from. They were cheaper than the greenfrog ones. We've only had it a couple of weeks but pleased so far. I know it doesn't answer your question (sorry) but thought I'd give you another choice! good_egg
Person I bought from sells both but advised us to the cube as she much prefers. Never had green frog but definitely chuffed with my choice!
dixie chick
Thanks for your replies - along with some advice outside of this forum I took note and have just placed my order for the Green Frog Chicken Loft. The reason was mainly that it is going to arrive much earlier than the Cube could have done ( and I cant wait to get my girls out of the wooden stable before the next generation of red mite hatch out ) ... and the gentleman on the end of the phone could not have been more helpful - compared to the Omlet lady who, quite frankly did not seem to care whether I ordered one or not! johnandkymberley
Really?! Omlet customer service is usually top notch! I have always found them to be one of the nicest companies I have ever dealt with-hence why I buy into the brand....
chuckmum6
- compared to the Omlet lady who, quite frankly did not seem to care whether I ordered one or not! Tut tut Omlet, let us know how you get on a few months down the line.
Chicken shack
I don't like the small door in the run. Omlets door is big enough to climb in. It used to be smaller but after many requests it was enlarged. Apart from that it looks like it will do the job.
Nikipins
I've just got an Arkus chicken house. I have some issues with it, has anyone dealt with Arkus before and if so how did you get on?
mimi5
Oh dear I think you must have caught somebody having a bad day! I have personally found the omlet team to be very helpful, on numerous ocassions !!! I started with a wooden coop (which ironically OH and I dismantled yesterday and took to the tip!!) it was poorly made and redmite was the last straw!!! Although, I was only using it for hatchlings, as I had quickly realised my mistake and after much research .......took the plunge and invested in a cube!! I will have had my cube for a year at the end of jan, I LOVE IT!!!! So do my pekins and it is SO easy to clean!! Best of luck with your choice! Let us know how you get on with it! Nikipins
Arkus have been very responsive but my problems are not solved yet. I looked at the eglu and cube but as this is our first foray into keeping chickens and I am not sure if we were going to get on with them I was reluctant to spend so much on our first coop. Let's see if I can get the arkus sorted if not it will be going back and I suspect I'll have to spend out more money on an eglu/cube, that or re-home the chickens ( hubby is already having a fit at the amount of money we have shelled out)
