Just noticed a sign on our local store; all closed up.

Yep, it happened a few weeks back.... I'd sent OH to pick up some things and he said there was a sign in the window.

 

I'm gutted, I used to buy loads in there

So sad...another victim of the recession. Its really heartbreaking when all the 'little' shops close down and all we are left with is the big chains and charity shops.

 

Our nearest towns - Wallingford and Thame - are turning into ghost towns with just chains, charity shops ans boards up where the independant shops used to be.

I understand they went into administration at the beginning of July, my local branches closed a few weeks ago.

Think sours is going too. I liked it in there too. It was a saviour when I was poorly with my gallbladder, as I could find low fat & no fat bits to eat. Luckily the girl I used to talk to in there has found another job, as I've seen her working in Polly's. Thank goodness, as she was a nice person.

Very sad, Like DM said our local town is becoming very deserted - there just seems to be;

sell you stuff for cash shop, pound shops and charity shops.
