scubababe
No I'm not getting kinky!! There is a facebook page and it is sooooo funny Soo many people from all different walks of life, even countries have been posting pictures...all censored so don't panic in support of Prince Harry. There is even a picture of some Israel soldiers with their rifles covering their vitals I am amazed at how quickly the group has grown and is being reported on by the worldwide media
patsylabrador
Salute4Harry It's very funny. Did anyone see the Yarnbomb knitted naked Harry. Scubababe, you should know, but the impression I've gained is that soldiers view nakedness in a different way to most people. It's just not a big deal. I've been told about 'nakedbar' which I don't understand but they think is very funny. Prince Harry is a lethal mix of a posh boy and a soldier. I think it's time he did a tour again - earn his right to cast off his clobber.
Angie
nakedness even for nurses is no big deal . Nakedness for others is awesome, but the mother in me says if it were an ordinary boy in the street no one would care , and no pics in the paper. So it was HRH Harry... Big deal , he is someones son , grandson....... and like them i would be hurt if my children appeared naked in the press, just like the editor of the Sun newspaper would be.....he'd be just as hurt and angry wouldn't he ? And no doubt in a rush to sue . As for the military....where more mixed units and facilities in close confines are more the norm it is nothing. There are foreign princes out there serving for the few years needed for the experience but the press don't go running after them Do they ?.....leave HRH Cpt Wales alone . soapdragon
Daily Mail today has an article on this together with some pics It seems that 'the top brass' are unimpressed to say the least so I hope no-one gets into trouble over it - its a great and humerous way to pit this whole episode into perspective and for the armed forces to show solidarity for one of their own!!! It did make me a bit cross to read that Harry had been 'summoned' to crisis talks with Prince Charles (a soldier who had an ongoing affair with another officer's wife -Camilla- which would have been stamped on if he had not been Heir ) Something of a pot and kettle thing going on there, methinks! He's a young lad with a responsible, high pressure career just letting off steam - ill advised but not a crime. If anyone is to be hauled over the coals then it should be his protection officers who should, IMHO, have been a bit more proactive in protecting him from himself...bless him! scubababe
Indeed...nakedness in the armed forces is nothing. When I served in Iraq I was the only female in a tent of 20 blokes at the end of the day when I had to get changed I just got on with it...as did the blokes! We did have washroom times for more intimate procedures but until they were built you just did what you had to do, when you had to do it Harry was having a laugh with his mates and some girlies in HIS hotel room. It is nothing more than any red blooded bloke does when they are their holiday...away from mummy & daddy The only wrong was that picture were released. I think the person who released the pictures had better remain anonymous. I think this is where the press should have a code of conduct. Is the picture anything to do with 'public interest' Only if you want to see what a cute backside Harry has!! It's sad when our lads are still losing their lives in war zones and on peace keeping missions and THAT is what the press chooses to cover!!!! I was serving in Iraq when the 6 RMP's (to name only 1 of many loss of lives) lost their lives and the trauma/angst in the unit as the details start to come through, the recovery of the bodies, the loss of comrades/friends/family, parading whilst the bodies are put onto the plane to go back home......the feeling of hopelessness, anger, grieving... Is it any wonder that a squaddie like to let of steam Was he having a punch-up causing destruction I'm finishing here....I think you can see where I'm coming from
The Dogmother
You have a point Jules, he is doing what numerous other lads of his age have done in the past... however, he is in an unique position where people are likely to abuse any invitation, and if he doesn't have the common sense (after a few beers) to realise this then his protection officers ought to have stepped in to confiscate any phones or cameras. I'm not saying that he ought to live the life of a monk, just that he should be mindful of his position and act accordingly. I'm not at all fazed by nudity in the right circumstances and I know what the forces get up to (my uncle was chief surgeon to the NAAFI and has some hilarious stories) but I do feel that either Harry, or his minders, need to be aware of his vulnerability. Indeed, we were not there so don't know the exact circumstances of events. The picture were obviously allowed to be taken in 'good faith'. lesson learnt, when you're HRH DON'T do 'good faith'. I hope that his protection team will be reprimanded and that they will not allow a 'leak' like this again!!! But he has got a cute backside
The Dogmother
I think it is safe to assume (in today's climate of instant coverage due to technology) that any photos won't be taken in good faith and are likely to go viral. The protection officers were lax in letting it go.
patsylabrador
There's a joke in the police that if you've messed up you end up posted to the property store, which certainly used to be found in station basements. I did wonder how many protection officers would find themselves in the property store. I think it's fair to say that Prots are there to protect them from other people not from themselves and are not there to regulate behaviour and they do get told to 'you know what off'. We don't know if they tried to take mobiles from guests but were over-ruled.
The Dogmother
True enough, we can only guess as to what went on.
Alis girls
there are some people who shouldnt take their kit off in public and Harry isnt one of them - young, toned and good looking - others should keep covered. I was talking to a patient yesterday about women going topless - seems to be less fashionable - certainly in Cyprus this yr and Spain last yr we didnt see anyone showing their thrupney bits.
