Gloves for wood burners

Recommended Posts

I bought leather gauntlets from the shop where I bought the stove. We've had the stove and the gloves for about 15 years, and all are still going strong. I've really only used one of them , as I rarely need to use both hands.

I use the gauntlet to open the stove if necessary (depends how hot the handle gets), and I also use it if I need to poke around in the stove while it's burning.

They are fantastic.

Thanks everyone, leather is definitely the way to go for me.

I made a little "oven cloth", crochet one side, and lined heavily with thick cotton the other. Seems to do the job, and looks quite pretty as well!

That's a lovely idea freddie but I think with my record of setting light to things it wouldn't last long  .
