ChrisP
Ok, so in a rush I piled up the washing machine, including a down gillet. It's come out of the machine now fairly 'flat' and not all puffy as it used to be I know you can put down items in a tumble drier with tennis balls, but I don't have a tumble drier here, so I was wondering if any of you knew how I can make the feathers have more life in them again? soapdragon
OOpps, can't think of anything other than a good shake! Could you try contacting the manufacturersto see what they recommen d? Good luck!
abwsco
I always wash my down gilet but do have a tumble dryer so bung it in there. Don't use balls though as it fluffs up anyway. One thing to try is line drying although unless it's really windy it will take ages to dry. Have you a launderette you could go to and use the dryer there. Egluntyne
Hit it with a stick. Honestly.
Lavenders_Blue
I've not washed a down gilet before, but I have put a down pillow through the wash. I don't have a tumble dryer, so I line dried it and gave it a good shake to re-fluff it. Is the gilet stitched across in sections? (If that makes sense?) If so, hopefully the down won't have moved around too much.
Groovychook
Hit it with a stick. Honestly. Sound advice! I've done that I've washed them a few times before. I haven't got a tumble drier so line dry them if possible or hang it over a sheila maid and then when dry, like E says- give it a good hiding! ChrisP
Thank you for all the sound advice I've hung it out of the window to dry it and will attack it with a stick later on (it'll double up as a stress buster for work!). It's nearly dry now, good thing it's a sunny day again and not cloudy or rainy!

The Dogmother
I've washed mine loads of times, I either tumble dry it for a few minutes then leave it to dry in front of the fire, or line dry it. It always comes out fine.
