Custard!

Recommended Posts

I like my custard PINK with chocolate sponge!

I think it is a school regression thing.

Of course Pink custard is banned now I think as someone somewhere decided the colouring causes global warming or something.

Ah... yes... spam fritters....pink custard.....aluminium water jugs with dents in.....those were the days

I think i'm in 'you know you're getting old when.....' mode again!

Kev.

I know I'm a bit late with this, but custard should be served hot, sweet and runny, drowning what ever you are serving it with........just like granny used to make! Yummmmmmm....

ooh! yes! - warm water at lunchtime and milk warmed by the radiators at break time :? Yuk!!!

Emma ordered dessert at the get-together today, and asked for it with ice cream "on the side" - you should have seen her face when it came with the ice cream on top!:lol::lol:

Ginette - I don't think custard powder has any egg in it? - just coloured, sweetened cornflour?

Hot custard, definitely to the side, and I like skin and lunps!

Birds custard was develpod by Alfred Bird (Chemist in Birmingham) because his wife was allergic to eggs but liked a dessert (Not sure if that should have been desert) sauce... so long story short no most custards do not contain eggs though some "proper" ones do.

I'm not really a custard anorak just third generation at a now ex custard factory

Thank you. I love interesting anecdotes like that. They help me to understand how and why! :D
