jamie
Hi all, I've just noticed one of my Seabright's gasping for air and looking rather poorly, She is fluffed up and very unsteady on her feet. I've given the food a dose of Flubenvet, should i double it and how would this effect the other birds if i do? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
jamie
She seems to be taking a turn for the worse, unable to stand now as her feet are rolled up and is really gasping for air.
coco
Not much help but can you bring her into the warm and make her comfortable, she sounds quite poorly.
The Dogmother
Doesn't sound good, can you get her to the vet pronto? Doesn't sound like gapeworm to me.....
Redwing
I agree it doesnt sound like Gapeworm Is her comb dark? it sounds like possible heart problems or a major respiratory issue

Redwing
Sebrights are very prone to Mareks disease which will make them very unsteady I think your only option is to get her to a vet if you havent already, alternatively find a knowledgeable chicken owner who can have a look or who can cull it for you
jamie
I got home this evening and she was in a bad way, pretty much paralysed and still gasping, I took her to a neighbour who keeps chickens and she put her out of her misery...poor little thing.
