I had taken her to the vets yesterday and she had an injection of antibiotics, but unfortunately she just didn't seem to respond. When I came home from work, she hadn't moved all day and really did seem very poorly. She wouldn't even stand up. Her comb was quite purply/blue. I don't think she had eaten since yesterday (if she had eaten yesterday). I rang the vet straight away and took her straight in. The vet agreed that she was indeed very poorly and advised for her to be PTS. However, while the vet was out of the room collecting the necessary, Betty had a little spasm and then quietly died I am very sad. She was such a sweet little chicken and one of my original two.
