I got my first Meerkat today (from comparethemarket.com). I'm in my 50s and don't have any children around to love him but I'm rediculously chuffed :D He is Alexander complete with red dressing gown and is a lot better made than I'd thought he'd be. He's now sitting up in my study to keep me working hard :wink: I did save an amazing amount on my home insurance (had been with the Pru for 24 years but clearly a change is a good thing), but am almost as delighted with my meerkat as I am with the saving :oops: I also loved all the letters about his impending arrival including a priceless one about how he had fallen into a cannal in Holland and got his fur all wet :lol: Whoever thought it all up really knows a thing or two about human nature. I hope that they got a good reward and it did not all go to some seniour manager somewhere :)

I got mine last year after buying car insurance. I was desperate for Alexander but ended up with the school teacher who was not nearly as nice! I will be looking at the site again over the next week or so to renew the car ins so maybe taking delivery of another Meerkat!

 

The boys loved tracking the Meerkat all over Europe and hearing about her adventures - all good fun! :D

I have got 4 now :lol::lol: My niece is a HUGE fan of meerkats, so I gave them to her.

 

 

The last one I received was left in the shed by the postman. He is great and always leaves parcels there when I am out. He will then leave a message on a letter letting me know. The last message said 'Meerkat in shed' :lol::lol: I have no idea how he knew, as the box is blank. :?

 

I got email updates from Postkat, telling me where he was! :lol::lol:

If you are soooo desperate to get a meerkat, there are lots on the famous auction site or you could knit one! :lol:

I want the little one with the rusksack that skips along the wall on the Corrie ads. 8) However, I didn't use that price comparison site for my car insurance, so can't apply for one.

Just done a credit card balance transfer so another Meerkat on his way :dance: This could become as addictive as collecting chickens :anxious:

 

I'm really lazy about changing suppliers as I used to find it all so stressful (all the forms etc) but these comparison websites really take the stress out of it and collecting meerkats has spurred me on to sort out all kinds of things. I mean why pay interest on a credit card when you can transfer it to another and get '0 % interest' for up to 23months :shock: OH chose Vasili this time round. I'll have to switch another thing as I want Sergei.

 

Perhaps I'm losing the plot :anxious:

I've only just seen this post! If you like meerkats, you should visit the Animal Experience at St Ives in Cambridge. My boys were given 'the experience' as a christmas pressy and they had a fantastic time!

Having spent countless hours over the past week (4 alone today :twisted: ) I have finally managed to work out and buy, after much to ing and fro ing with the company concerned the best deal with Compare the Market........... and so have a Meerkat on the way! Gobsmackedto find that you can CHOOSE which one! Last time it was pot luck and got the school teacher so flogged her on local free ad site :shock: as she was a bit boring :oops:

 

Sooooo,now have Alexander travelling overland to us, much to the delight of E and Y S!
