Spinning Top
Plans to extend and refit our kitchen are getting very exciting. Estimates are coming in for various bits (piled foundations, floor, worktops are all in budget) and I've really got my fingers crossed for the actual building estimate, which is coming tomorrow. However, we've changed out minds about the fitting company we planned to use. The builders are happy to work with whoever we choose but recommend Howdens and can tie the fitting in with the build. Does anyone have experience, either of Howdens or other mid-range price companies?
counturchickens
We used howdens for our last kitchen, and it was great. 6 years on no issues at all, doors and drawers working as they should. We've now moved house, and planning on using them again, in fact the designer is coming round on Friday. We're planning the work just after Easter, it is exciting isn't it! freddie
What about private companies local to you? When, and it'll be a while , I get a "proper" kitchen , then 2Detail will be doing it, as they are such meticulous workers, and I try to put my money locally. I've seen several they've done, and I wanted all!
Margalot
When we had our house refurbished we chose an independent kitchen company in Swindon who were fantastic and recommended by our builders. We aslo used Howdens for the utility furniture as we had blown our budget on the ktchen and couldnt warrant spending any more with the first company. Builders like Howdens as all the units come ready assembled by the joinery and there is no flat pack involved. the fitting is of a high qaulity and the units are very sturdy and very well made. Howdens have a great range in price, so you can choose the spec you want and I cannot fault the build or workmanship. Both our kitchen and utility are 3 years old now and both still look great and no wobbly doors etc
Cinnamon
My Husband does some kitchen fitting ( he did ours!), & he says that Wickes Kitchens are really good quality.
The Dogmother
My Husband does some kitchen fitting ( he did ours!), & he says that Wickes Kitchens are really good quality. Exactly what my builder said and I have a Wickes kitchen, which I am very pleased with.
freddie
Hope it's better than their double glazed windows, which all leak(ed). When we moved in, 1st job was to get them sorted, and as they were less than 3 yrs old, I was staggered at how awful they were:(
charly1979
Our Kitchen is a year old and we used Howdens in Bath and we are VERY pleased with it, some panels were delivered damaged and we didnt find out straight away and they were happy to send and replace new ones, luckilly I passed their depot on the way to college so they took the stuff to them. We also had a few bits left over that they took back with no problems (and ammended our final bill to suit) Hope it all goes well for you
