charly1979
Really unimpressed I'm feeling incredibly ill !! Stomach pains sickness achey can hardly move, asked ED to help me and all I got was attitude and lip. She has now given in and is going to the shops to get YS (3yrs) bread for lunch, heaven help me when I ask her to make it !!! Think I must have a proper talk with her when i feel better (suspect I was the same at some point) All I want is my mummy who isn't answering her phone mind you last time I felt this ill she made me have a tepid bath much to my sisters amusement who was helping with kids, at the moment thinking of sitting in the log burner to warm up (wont fit though)
patsylabrador
Speaking as your Mother, I always take Pepto Bismol and a couple of ibuprofen. One to settle tummy, one to kill pains. Send your daughter back to shops to get you some soothing chamomile tea if you don't have any, and a magazine.
Chortle Chook
In the role of Mum, sounds to me like you have flu You have my deepest sympathies. Run yourself a nice warm bubbly bath, then role (not tuck) yourself up in your duvet either in bed or on the sofa with a drink of some nice warm, very sweet milk. On the title subject, I have a sneaking suspicion that I prefer chooks, dogs, any animal but children Apart, that is from those between the ages of about 5-11 when they seem both sweet and interesting. Before 5 and I get bored by their endless capacity for repetition, after 11 and I find them quite scarily trendy. They then seem to have another nice phase between about 19-24 when they are all sweet again and keen to please before life has roughed them up too much. bluekarin
I had this a week or so ago. Four days of horrid stomach pains and other stuff. I did the BRAT diet - bananas, rice, applesauce and toast - as they don't affect your stomach and helps give you a bit of energy. Kids are by their nature selfish. I remember asking my DS to go to the shops for me, and it took quite a while to get him to do it Try and take things easy. Chamomile tea is really good. I was drinking peppermint but apparently that can cause indigestion! I never knew.
chickencam
I know what you mean, they expect us to run around after them and let them do things that you are not comfortable with, but when we request something it is a different matter. I hope that you feel better soon (((hugs)))

Geoid
When I was a child, and my mum asked me to go to the shops, I always took the opportunity with relish, as it meant I could buy sweets etc and eat them on the way home
charly1979
Phew I think it must have been a 24 hour bug thing we have had so many bugs in our area taking all sorts of shapes, im glad to say im feeling normal ish again still a bit achey but nowhere near like yesterday, just shows that sleep is the best medicine (along with some strong co codomol ) And I think whilst I was poorly Trixie my speckly laid her first egg, ashamed to say I was too poorly to collect them yesterday and I have still not shown hubby all the tricks of the cube (plus it was dark when he got home and the girls were tucked up in bed) we did discuss the other day that I need to show him as if anything happend to me he would be clueless although being an engineer im sure he would work it all out
Chortle Chook
Glad you are feeling better About children, OH read my post above and said 'you sound like the child catcher' - sorry I think they actually have to be self centred for their own survival.
