Luvachicken
I would like to buy some new frying pans. I just need 2 - a small one and a big one. I looked at the ones in the Lakeland catalogue but don't really know what to look for. What frying pans would any of you recommend and why, or not ? Thank you very much, going shopping tomorrow
Geoid
These are fantastic, the best non stick pan I have ever used.
Olly
Gulp - how much? I thought you were a student, Fred! I was going to suggest the Jamie Oliver pans, had mine a few years and they've worn well.

I thought the Aga frying pans were expensive I have these, http://www.agacookshop.co.uk/cookware/frying-sauteing-woks/black-aga-berndes-ceramic-coated-frying-pan.html I like the way you can remover the handles and put the pan in the oven. Mine are about 6 or 7 years old and still great but losing a bit of their non stick ability now, still fine for frying most things. They didn't cost that much, they were on special offer, £30 for 2!
Charlottechicken
I have a griddle and a frying pan from the M&S budget range. I've had them for years and they even manage being handled by OH on a regular basis, who can be heavy handed with a spatula and washing up brush! When I got mine they were about £6 each but I think they will have gone up by now.

Geoid
The Ikea 365+ pans are also quite good.
Angie
Tefal , red spot non stick, had mine 9 yrs and still like new.
Luvachicken
I was looking at the Tefal ones with the red spot. Can't really afford the Le Creuset ones and don't imagine I would find the offer you got. We do have an ancient Tefal frying pan that is 23yrs old, so I'm basing what I buy on that. No, they are the perfect weight, heavy, but not too heavy and not too light either.
CatieB
Have a look in TK Maxx bought my last one in there as they have good quality pans, as well as cheap and cheerful, for reduced prices. If you aren't fussed that they have to match an existing set then its perfect. They had red spot ones in my branch
iar fach goch
I have the Ikea 365+ range and am very impressed, have had them for seven years and still as good as new.
bluekarin
I too was going to suggest Tkmaxx for le crueset as they are much cheaper. My local store has sme gorgeous colours, I have my eye on some teal coloured pans I currently use the Tefal red spot frying pans and I have a pancake frying pan from Waitrose which is solely for pancakes and nothing else! The Tefal ones are ok, but at under a tenner I don't mind buying a new one every 3 or so years. I do find the base tends to warp a bit but the non stock aspect is excellent. My local store has sme gorgeous colours, I have my eye on some teal coloured pans I have a Le Crueset teal coloured casserole It is such a pretty colour and cooks stew and casserole beautifully. And it washes up perfectly every time, even if it's been burnt on. I went for the Tefal frying pans in the end and managed to get a £10 gift voucher for next time

It must be about 20 years old now and still used at least once a week sadly FIL and MIL not with us any more, now used for DD, DS, GF, BF and grandchildren Chrissie
Luvachicken
Purplemaniacs, it is nice that you have a treasured cooking item like that, each time you cook in it reminding you of lovely family meals. I might treat myself to some other Le Creuset stuff like the lasagne dishes. Does anyone know if they are any good ?
