Charlottechicken
I was chatting to a couple of colleagues today and they are trying to sort their teens out for the new school year. Both have school bags to buy but neither knew what the latest must-have bag was for school. Apparently, last year it was the old style satchel. I couldn't help as I know nothing about fashion I said I would ask on here as Omleteers know everything
craftyhunnypie
I think ruck sacks are in this year if Next , New Look etc etc are to go by. I don't mean the camping / trekking sort, but the leather/ faux leather , oilcloth or canvas sort. Emma.x
Alis girls
Ruck sack full of junk are the thing here in London - heavier the better and trying to part the average 12 yr old boy from his junk in order to save his back is not easy believe me. Good luck - the first bag you get they will turn their noses up at but I told mine its that or an Asda carrier
chuckmum6
Superdry retro style bags and the like. My son has a Timderland messenger bag that is three years old and indestructible, just as well!
Nikipins
My youngest DD aged 7 is converting a YUU bag! At £50 including postage from the Far East she can keep on dreaming. If you don't know what a YUU bag is its a fancy rucksac in funky prints for pre-teens, it comes with a few treats such as a travel game, pencil case etc. it's a total rip off as far as I am concerned. I suspect it's a well made bag but £50 worth of well made bag??? I think I've diverted her by buying her a pink flowered messanger bag on holiday last week (£8.99). She chose it and I encouraged her saying it would remind her of her holiday when she was back at school. The eldest DD chose a bag in the local charity shop. It's again a messanger bag by rip curl for all of £5. Hopefully the bags will keep them happy for a couple of terms. Now just the pencil cases, lunch boxes, shoes, skirts etc..... chickencam
My son (17) has Animal messenger bag from last yr., YD (14) has tan coloured smallish rucksack style from Primark. I would go with my daughter's choice with her being more fashion conscious.
The Dogmother
Messenger style bags seem to be the trend at the moment; Rosie has a Guns N Roses one.
