Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

I'm going to get a wellsummer today, and to go with her I'm going to get a coloured silkie. They have red , partridge and buff. I already have a white one. Which colour should I choose ?

Oh how exciting, love silkies but I am a bit biased. I have a red who is really stunning whereas my partridge just looks like a slightly more coloured gold but maybe she isn't a good specimen!

How exciting Sonyascott,how many will that be?I have 9 ex batts,now free 14 months.I would love some posh birds but am trying to hold off until we have some go over rainbow bridge.If you see them you might be tempted to have one of each!

Oh yes. Started with 3 omlet chickens, one eglu go and run. They are fascinating creatures, fun and a joy to care for.

Sonyascott how big is your run for 11 chickens? It's the size of my run that limits me, it's only 6ft by 9ft so have only got 5 chickens. Wishi could start again and get a huge WIR!

I've actually got 3 coops. An omlet go with run and WIR. An omlet classic with run, and a traditional which has it's own fenced off area. The Daisybelle in the classic insists on going out every day. The ex bats go out every day. The others in the WIR go out when I'm cleaning them out.

Eggs slowing down now. Silkie and legbar still pol, so I'll probably be overrun with eggs in the spring. Lucky neighbors
