Patricia W
I got my Omlet Christmas catalogue today. The item I won't be buying is a tweed jacket for the chickens.... A step to far, I think, Omlet, although no doubt something for " Have I got news for you"!
soapdragon
The word 'gimmick' springs to mind!
Olly
Oh, my. I had to go off and look. click I suppose it would make a change from the high-vis jackets, you know - Sundays and holidays!
soapdragon
Dissapointed that they don't do matching tweed caps What next, chicken Hunters?
kissinuk
Am I the only one who think this isn't doing Omlet's reputation any good? They have a great name for chicken products, please don't ruin it...
chuckmum6
I am really disappointed that Omlet are trying to sell items that are turning animals into something akin to those awful dressed up pets! My girls are farm yard animals, all be it very dear to me, but animals that need to live as such in MHO. Why do they need bright pink high vis jackets or tweed coats, this will only suppress their natural chickeny instincts and depress them. My hens have lovely downy duvets naturally, why would they need some man made covering?? Sorry rant over as it does really upset me and I am so disappointed with Omlet who should know better. chuckmum6
.... Sorry not quite over.... This is being marketed as a saddle to prevent cockerel damage or keep the moulting hen warm, but it was my girls necks that really suffered with our cockerel and their bumps and tummy that are bald in a moult, these things don't cover these areas!! I'm going off now to quietly seeth!

Saronne
I'm sure it's all a bit of fun, but don't think it's doing the company's reputation any favours. A lot of eglu owners have put up with criticism of plastic chicken houses over the years, and this will just reinforce the old guard's attitude that we're not serious chicken keepers. Patricia W
I completely agree!
Chortle Chook
I'm not quite sure what has happened to that really good Omlet design that created the Eglu, the Cube, the Grub/ Glug and the Qute
Omlet Staff james Posted November 26, 2013 Omlet Staff Share Posted November 26, 2013 Hey guys, I was just fixing a little bug on the server and saw this post. Don't worry you don't have to buy every Omlet product! We had to design new chickens jackets because our old supplier stop making them and customers still wanted to buy them. The chicken jackets came out of a real practical customer needs but we think products should be fun as well as practical. They have captured the imagination of the press more than anyone thought. There are lots of great new designs, big and small, in the pipe line which will coming out next year. James
