Its common for piercings to be fine at first, then just blow up out of nowhere - my nose did the same & looks quite vile for a week or so

Keep cleaning it with either a good solution like Metal Morphosis, or saline, & try not to fiddle or twist it too much (hard, I know!), & it will be fine

 

It will itch like anything as it starts to heal too, which is a good sign, but really annoying!

I'm being very good about not twisting, touching or generally fiddling with it. It just gets a gentle rinse in the shower each morning and a sea salt soak at night. It's looking tonnes better now, but it was rather alarming! I don't remember this happening before, but that might be due to the time elapsed.

I had a lady come for smear a year ago. Before I did smear she stopped me and said "I have a piercing down there just in case it alarmed you🙄" for once in my life I was speechless as what do you say. As a woman of the world I've seen a fair few. I have 2 ear piercings on ear lobes and that's my lot as found incredibly painful. Contemplating a nipple , belly button or lower wouldn't cross my mind. I am a wuss.
