Feathers at last - with pics + what colour are they ?

Recommended Posts

After suffering horrific pecking from Myrtle and Melody for what seemed like ages, and then being separated from them in May, Queenie and Suzie finally have their feathers back - well almost for Suzie.

It has taken such a long time for their feathers to regrow.

I think anytime anything grew back Myrtle and Melody pecked it off again.

Here they are looking their best again. I got so used to seeing them bald that it was odd looking at them with all their feathers.

Here is Queenie. She had all of her head and neck feathers down to her tummy pecked off but is looking beautiful now.

This is Suzie. She had lost all of her head and neck feathers. She almost has all of her feathers back.

And just so they didn't feel left out here is Gemma

And Lucie

Now, I know Queenie is a millefleur pekin and Lucie is a buff Plymouth rock, but what colour pekins are Suzie and Gemma ?

what lovely girls you have, did you manage to get them back with the bullies? did they ever cause bleeding too?

I never got them back together with the bullies.

After a big thunderstorm Melody seemed to die from shock and I managed to rehome Myrtle with the breeder where she came from.

One day, they attacked really badly and both Queenie and Gemma had their wattles severely pecked on the same day and at basically the same time. As I did first aid on one and took them back the other was bleeding.

They are all a lot happier now and I have heard that Myrtle is doing really well.

Oh what absolute beauties - I want them :lol:

I know you like pekins Libby :D

I find it funny that Queenie has the least feathery feet, followed by Suzie and then Gemma, she has the biggest slippers ever.

I was told that Queenie - the first pic - is a millefleur pekin though :? . It was the second and third pictures I didn't know the colours of.

Yes Suzie and Gemma were from the same batch from Rokers, whilst Queenie and Lucie came from a lovely breeder in Northamptonshire.

I think they are very pretty, but then I am biased, and I don't mind what colour they are called really, just thought it would be interesting to know.
