chickencam
I am going on a pre booked train journey and can't find my family and friends railcard which is in date until October time. I looked on their site and it said that you had to pay £10. For a replacement and pay full fare until it arrived. Has anyone successfully travelled on pre booked tickets without the railcard? merlina
No, and I know people who've had all kinds of trouble when they tried (although that was mostly re young persons cards) Only person I know who 'got away' with it was a friend who had a photocopy of her card to show Sorry
chickencam
My lovely fabulous hubby has found it in an envelope with train tickets from our last train journey on a shelf buried under YD's school folders in our study. He is in very good books now.
Geoid
If you dont have the railcard, you will have to pay the full fare. Happened to a few students I know.

Cinnamon
My lovely fabulous hubby has found it in an envelope with train tickets from our last train journey on a shelf buried under YD's school folders in our study. He is in very good books now. Now take a scan of it - at least that way you have something if he ever loses it again (obviously it was him that lost it, as he seemed to know where to find it! )
soapdragon
So glad it was found Having had numerous similar situations over the years we now have a specific drawer in the dresser for 'paperwork' of this nature as we have learned the hard way! There are so many bits of paper that you need to hang onto these days its a minefield! Good advice about keeping copies/making scans too! We have a whole filing cabinet, but both this and an MOT certificate have slipped through the net this week, OH found the MOT too, so I agree with Cinnamon he must have lost them in the first place I also lost a camera at a family wedding over Christmas! he found that too! via his cousin, so obviously he hid that too. Egluntyne
I once witness someone being taken of a train by the transport police because they didn't have their rail card with them and refused to pay the difference when spoken to by the ticket inspector.
