Cinnamon
Anyone got one? Having finally been able to upgrade to super whizzy Broadband, we were looking forwad to using Netflix & BBC iplayer, However we don't have a smart TV, & they are pretty darn expensive. This little £30 gizmo just plugs into the back of a normal flatscreen tv (with a HDMI port), & you can stream said players to the TV via your smartphone - it is brilliant It was gadget of the year in the USA last year, & has I think only recently become available here in the UK. Just thought I would pass this on in case anyone else can make use of one too
Angie
I don't have a smart TV either , but I would be interested in your little gizmo . Where did you find it ?
Luvachicken
My son got given one for his birthday last week. It looked pretty cool to me. He asked me to pick any program I wanted to watch, that I might have missed, then he touched his phone and it appeared on the telly. Think I might need one of those gadgets now
The Dogmother
It received very positive reviews in the Mail's Event magazine.
Cinnamon
I got it from Amazon, Angie. Spent last night feeding my 'The Tudors' addiction
Lesley
My son in law had one for his birthday last week and set it up in minutes - I'm not easily impressed by technology but this seemed pretty amazing!
bluekarin
Looks very interesting. Would it work with an iPad which has the cartoon hd app on it and stream the films etc onto the tv using the chromecast?
Cinnamon
I don't know - I don't do ipads, but it does work with a Smartphone. EDIT: Although I suspect it would, as it works via an app, which you could download onto the ipad.
Geoid
Looks very interesting. Would it work with an iPad which has the cartoon hd app on it and stream the films etc onto the tv using the chromecast? It should work, as long as your house has wifi! In fact Google says: Chromecast works with Android tablets and smartphones, iPhone® and iPad® devices, Chrome for Windows, Chrome for Mac® and Chromebooks.
