My 22 year old daughter is going to Africa for three months and the trip involves a lot of travelling.

Sadly she suffers from travel sickness quite badly so we were wondering if any you lovely Omleteers know of the best ways to deal with it.

I am quite prone to travel sickness and use Stugeron OTC tablets.I think you can get Hyoscine patches on prescription which I have heard are good.

I take Stugeron tablets for nausea and it really helps

Personally for me they are a tiny bit sedating,which is no bad thing when travelling I think.Like all meds there is a list as long as your arm listing everything under the sun.

I was advised the Sturgeron too for hubby's sea sickness. Strange thing was I already had them on prescription by the doc for dizzy spells - take if needed (I never did need them as the iron tablets did the trick for me). Wish I'd known they were the same thing before I bought the extra ones - he could have had mine as they were the same strength!

Stugeron does knock me out a bit, so not great if traveling for several days (as I found on a coach around Australia some years ago) but great for shorter trips such as flights or ferry crossings !

I get very travel sick and am still waiting to grow out of it

Anything with hyocine works for me. My favourites were the Boots own brand but they have been discontinued, so now I get Sturgeron. I would prefer the Boots ones but that's the power of placebo, as the Sturgeron work just as well

For me the fear/dread/anticipation (and embarrassment) or travel sickness makes it worse, so I feel much better when I take control
