Cat tails
I've now had my ladies for about three weeks. I'm positive that nutty Nutmeg suffers severly from MCCS. Better known as Mentally challenged chicken syndrome... After three weeks, still gets hopelessly lost in my garden, which is roughly the size of a post stamp. The biggest hurdle is when the ofher two ambled into the run and she is "stuck" on the outside... She will run circles around the run, without finding the entrance. Tonight she tried to get in the coop by climbing up the run on the outside. Yesterday I just got a broom out and gently shoved her into the right direction. Another favorite pasttime is pecking my big black rubbish bin. Don't know why she does it, but maybe it gives a nice ring in her empty little head... Does anyone know a nice school for this daft little lady, where she can learn how to chicken? Love her to bits though, but it's a good thing I wasn't planning on passing on her genes! redsunset
No cure, but hey, would you want her any other way?? There is always one who just does things topsy turvey and gets under your skin.. Have a little brown hen who thinks it's her right to sneak past my legs into the kitchen at every opportunity and have often found her by the dog bowls or just casing the joint in general incase she's missed something! Cat tails
Well at least she figured out there is something to get in the kitchen! I doubt Nutmeg would ever put two and two together... But she definately brings me the most laughs!
sjp
sadly no cure and it can be highly contagious but on the positive they can go into remission from time to time
Beantree
She's not a Bluebell by any chance Cat Tails? We have many chickens that seem to lose the plot on occasions and try to take to shortest distance to a point. One last week wanted to lay and spent ages outside under the nest boxes trying to work out how to get up in there! The penny dropped in the end. Beantree, she's not a Bluebell but a New Hampshire bantam. Maybe she was raised by a Bluebell though! Hopefully the egg dropped too, in the right place?
