Well - my chooks are all well & truly asleep now - but they are about to be disturbed as we are lifting the entire eglu & run down the garden path - & lifting it over the decking rails & onto the decking overnight. Then it's up early to do our work, then washing the eglu area down, cutting back the trees a bit & finishing the cube - so they can move in officially tomorow.

I'm all nervous about shifting the eglu, as I've just seen one of those things I detest....a frog!

Deep breaths , deep breaths...I must be brave, I must be brave!

Think frogs - think gorgeous handsome princes :wink:

Go one give one a kiss

Hope the move goes well - I can just picture you both with miners hats on , and fisherman waterproofs - followed by little froggies.

And a lumberjack OH too huh? Shred those tree bits and use them in the run - so long as they are not conifers of course.

Phew! I'm knackered. We have moved the mk2 eglu from where it was to on the decking for one night only! We had to carry it at quite high. I had to climb in the run and carry the run on my head - hence the daft hat in the photo in my gallery, which I am constantly updating. That photo should give you all a giggle. The chooks didn't make a sound at all. Bless them, I was worried about their little hearts.

When we lifted it on the decking, I was trapped in the run when it was lowered. Much to the amusement of my husband - who would have taken a photo if I could have told him where I'd put my camera. But I was in pain, almost bent double!!!! He was tempted to leave me there for the night!

We have had a right good laugh moving it. I checked on the chooks through the eggport with a torch and they are all snuggled up, not a care in the world! It will be funny to see them come out in the morning! ' Oooo mummy where are we?' They will get spoilt rotten tomorrow, lots of treats, pampering, Blanche needs a bath, more cuddles & a new house!

Getting in the bath now, as I'm filthy from moving the eglu & being inside a run!

Have fun giggling at the photos! Do you like my official eglu moving outfit?

Setting the trend for next Season!

Hiya - if you click on the bit in my signature where it says - click here to see my chooks, that takes you to my gallery. Then click on the one called cube & it's all there! Well what we've done so far. Waiting for the rain to go off. The cube area is all clean & been disinfected etc. The girls were funny this morning, waking up on the decking. Can't have minded the temporary move too much tho, as we have had a whopper egg of Rita. Bless her!

Eh up, I spot a bit of sun poking it's head thru the clouds! Hooray!

I'm out this afternoon, I help out an elderley lady on a Wednesday with a bit of shopping & hoovering & have a cup of tea with her. So I've told hubby - if that cube is not in postion when I get back, he best watch it! I trust it will be tho, he's been quite good since our domestic during cube building the other night. he he

What do all you Cubies use in the nesting box of the cube? I normally use straw in the eglu, but that is going to be one hell of a lot of straw in the cube - I worry about attracting mites. I might do half & half. Half straw, half shredded paper & see what the girls prefer.

A bit of newspaper - then Aubiose on top - the nesting box is big isn't it.

That long gap in the middle made one of my little ones look perplexed - I told her she wouldn't fall through - well not by the time she is old enough to lay eggs.

She walked along it feet either side just in case though - hence the newpaper in it first - in case any have vertigo.

ooo you don't miss much you lot!:lol: The Xmas tree is from last Xmas. I had it near my back door for visitors to see. We use the back door more than the front! Anyway, the decorations you see are actually eggs I bought when in Austria in February. I bought them for Easter ( an easter tree), but because of the chicken theme in my garden, they have remained on the tree. Everyone loves my little tree! I will need a chicken for the top of my tree this year, instead of a fairy. I bet ubereglu could rustle up a Xmas recycled chicken for the top of the tree!

I'm going to get some solar fairy lights too, to drape round the cube! 8)

Building of the cube - it underway again - quick run for cover from hubby and his tools!!!!

Solar fairy lights - I bought my sister some from Focus. They are brill!

Just had to come in out of the way as hubby is wheeling the cube into position, ready for more building. I never knew cube construction could take so long! I bet me & Karen & Co could have put it together in no time with a bit of wine!

The ORANGE cube is complete! All finished & the chooks have moved in! They look so lost in all that space! They will be joined by 3 newbies on Saturday tho! I've left my pink eglu up on the decking incase of any squabbles. It's going the jet wash on Friday. I will get some funny looks at the jet wash won't I! he he

When all 3 chooks were in the cube. Naughty Audrey has found a corner that is in between a crack in the slabs of concrete & has dug and pulled out loads of little wormies. Her beak is all muddy now. Blanche ( pepperpot) just can't weigh it all up. Oh & Rita keeps ducking under the ladder. No one has ben up the ladder yet to investigate. I've put a shower curtain over the top as the shade is a bit daft. It only covers a tidgy bit of run.

The cube tho is absolutely brilliant! I can fully understand why it is the price it is. All those complicated plastic mouldings.

The designers at Omlet are truly brilliant! Imagined being married to one of them! All those fabulous design ideas floating round in their heads. They are true geniuses! I take my hat off to them. ( see gallery for my hat).

Every part of my cube was there. No nut or bolt was missing. Everything is as it should be. Just got to make sure that thr roof doesn't leak, like people have warned me. But apart from that - I adore it.

Who would ever want to send a cube back to Omlet under guarantee? They must be nuts!

Oh I've updated the gallery again. My camera has been very busy & hubby finally got his Stella!

Enjoy everyone & Thankyou OMLET!

Oh it was funny at bedtime. I watched the chooks from the kitchen window. They were strutting up & down in the run, panicking about where they were supposed to slepp, where was there comfy house & nestbox? They started pacing back and to at the back of the run under the cube. Then Rita clonked her head on the ladder & stopped as if to say' hmm I wonder why that's there' Then with a few flaps of the wings, up she went. She settled down in the nesting area - all squashed down flat like a fluffy pancake. Next up was Blanche, who didn't want to miss out on any action. But then Audrey was left out on her own & started bawk bawking. She couldn't work out how to get up there. After a few attempts she got half way up the ladder then flapped up the rest & into the cube. It was great to watch them.
