Cat tails
Finally... After three months! My first egg!!! It's tiny, but who cares! It's an egg! Don't know who it is from. Well ofcourse from one of my chickens... Duh! But which of the three ladies blessed me today, I don't know. (Might not truly be the first egg, because I just got them back from boarding. But I'm just going to ignore that... Sssh... )

Daphne
Can't beat the first egg....well you can beat it, both literally and metaphorically, but you know what I mean Enjoy
Cat tails
Considering it's tinyness, I'm going to wait untill tomorrow and hope I get another tiny egg and then make soft boiled egg on bread.

Cat tails
I did a little egg dance! (After I put the egg somewhere safe. I wasn't about to loose my long awaited first egg...)
Luvachicken
Well done on getting your first egg You might want to scramble it or poach it though because really fresh eggs don't make good boiled eggs. I am also celebrating a first egg of sorts - haven't had any at all for ages until today
Cat tails
Woohoo! More eggs! I'm hopeless at poaching and it I scramble this egg, my frying pan will probably make this wee egg disappear... I think I'll take my chances with boiling and maybe just spoon it out.
Luvachicken
How about fried in one of those tiny frying pans, then it wouldn't look so small

Cat tails
I had the freshest of freshest eggs ever today. Nutty Nutmeg (whom I suspected was the only one NOT laying yet...guess I was wrong...) went into the box and a minute or two later popped out and there was a perfect little light egg, almost pinkish of colour! My mom got the honours of picking up the still warm egg. So now I know for sure that Nutmeg is laying. Just need to figure out which of the other two is also laying, as I had 2 eggs on Wednesday. mullethunter
There's nothing better than getting the egg while it's still warm.

Cat tails
I now know that ALL three are laying! Yesterday I got an egg from Ginger. It was tiny (even tinier than the average bantam egg) and it took her most of the afternoon to figure out where you go and what you do. She spent at least an hour in the nest box and shuffled around there for quite some time. I've been keeping track of the eggs on a calendar and I think Cinnamon is laying every other day. Nutmeg hasn't come to an agreement yet with her insides to lay regularly. It's a bit hit and miss so far. The joys of having a holiday! I can look at my chooks ALL day! Purplemaniacs
That is good CT. I weigh and record all the eggs my girls lay so I know the heaviest one and how many each have laid. It is quite interesting looking back. Chrissie
Cat tails
That does sound interesting! But I already ate them... D'oh! Once back to work, I won't know who laid what. But for now, it's nice to keep track. It gives me an idea how many eggs I can eggspect in a week.
