heth1986
Afternoon everyone, It's been quite some time since I last posted, it has all been going (dare I say it ) rather well with my two ladies, they're both laying well in between their super broody moments and seem to be very happy and healthy. So of course, I am now feeling the need to throw a spanner in the works and get a couple more . I currently have Peta (my pretty little chicken of fate) who is a bantam laced wyandotte and Paula who is an auracana, so both quite small birds. I'm after 2 more bantams, preferably a fairly chilled breed, with different coloured eggs. I'm currently getting a white egg and a blue egg just about every day and would love some speckled / brown / green eggs. Is there such a thing as a bantam maran for the brown eggs? What other breeds would everyone recommend?
Cat tails
New Hampshire bantams! Lovely red birds, apparently less likely to go broody and technically laying brown eggs, although mine are very light brown/pinkish.
mullethunter
I know you can get maran bantams (they're on my list ) - they may lay darker eggs
heth1986
New hampshire bantams look beautiful, I shall look into them... and also into the elusive bantam marans! There just don't seem to be many breeders near me (North Derbyshire) other than for the more common breeds
