PixieDust
Thank you very much. The run was a lot of blood, sweat and arguments. Very basic pressure treated garden posts at all corners, square pressure treated posts in between and across the roof. Cuprinol Silver something Ducks Back paint. You can't see the door but it is a piece of trellis which OH made a frame for with 2 bolts, a gate latch and a hasp and staple with a padlock. Everything covered in weld mesh which is dug in around 6-8" and a 8-10" skirt all round. Only thing that worries me is the mesh overlap and clips. They will probably be fine but never say never with Mr Fox! OH convinced it will be fine. On his head be it!
Eggshell
They're lovely! And just the same colours as my three. Your Light Sussex is a lot braver, though; mine cowers away from anything that hangs and swings, and only darts in to pick up the pieces the others have pecked off. mullethunter
Pixiedust the girls and your run are absolutely gorgeous. It all looks so clean and tidy compared to my little rabble! I know you doubted yourself a bit at first but you're one of the most conscientious owners I've come across and anyone could tell you're doing a brilliant job. Glad you're enjoying the Pobs
PixieDust
That's very kind of you Mullethunter but I am on the doubt again. All the girls are sneezing a lot and Lily looks not her usual self. ACV started yesterday. Lily also had not emptied her crop last night. Much massaging and olive oil today
Luvachicken
It does look very smart and your girls look lovely too. It's always nice to see other setups as it gives us all new ideas. I hope your girls get rid of their sniffles.

redsunset
Hope all your lovely chooks are feeling better and have to say what a lovely set up. Looks so clean compared to my lovely mud so a bit jealous there!
PixieDust
Sniffles a bit better today but Lily seems to have possible sour crop. They are on garlic and ACV water plus they had some live yoghurt but if her crop isn't empty tomorrow I may have them on zero rations. Obviously if our weather isn't warm tomorrow night I may have to bring her into the drum room and give the others some corn. Fingers crossed. She was brighter today so maybe we are going in the right direction. She loves having her crop massaged. No bad smell and nothing comes out but 2 mornings it hasn't been empty and it's a bit squishy. Thank you for the compliments re the run. It is just sharp sand on a membrane. We are on clay so leaving it as mud would have been so unhygienic for them. I poo pick every day and clean the poo and change the Aubiose in the coop every day. The sand doesn't make the feeder and drinker dirty really and they are taken in every night. It's heavy and sticky when wet but it sticks to itself. The run isn't perfect. Not enough overhang on the roof at the back but it's not a biggie. I can clean them out in the rain without getting wet. The sand is damp but not sodden. We lifted the coop of the floor so it wouldn't rot. Personally I wish it were twice the size but 10.5ft x 7ft isn't too bad. PixieDust
Good news. Lily's crop was empty this morning. Will keep ACV, garlic and a small amount of live yoghurt going for a few days.
