Cate in NZ
I'm so sorry to hear the news I've got to say it sounds unlikely that she'll turn up now, horrible though it is to say it. She may have got caught in a neighbours garage or shed, and return when she gets released, or taken in by a helpful stranger, but more likely after this length of absence is falling unwitting prey to Mr Fox I do hope so very much that I'm wrong though. Often when I actually make a statement someone immediately turns round and proves me wrong, so I hope that Flo is reading this right now, and wanders back just to prove that one again I know absolutely nothing

alaedw
Evening, Nope still no sign.... and we had to go get Mabel a friend as she was lonely and not that the new Chook will ever replace Flo in our hearts... Well we went to this lovely farm in Melton and she had a small holding, with Free Range Pigs and Chook's, she had about 100 Chook's some white, some speckled, and some gingernut rangers!! .. We got a white one, not sure what type she is... but she is beautiful Alan has named her Poppy, the lady at the farm was selling them in pairs for £5 but we dont have room for two more ... so we got her for £3... She is an older chook and huge!! .... lol.. so when we put her in the run with Mabel expecting feathers to fly, As first hey had a staring competition but absolutely nothing after that!! .... have left them both in run togetehr today but will let them both out tomo...but with a very watchful eye!! Thank you all again for your support... Luv Sue

Richard
sounds a promising first meeting between the two! I hope they continue to be best friends. My girls go around in twos - they seem to be part of the bigger flock, but within that they have their friend.
chocchick
How sad I've been away for a few days. If it's any help, when Katy flew off the other day and we couldn't find her for 5-10 mins she was amazingly well camoflaged, hidden in a hedge. OH looked twice at the place where she was and couldn't see her. She's also survived a night under a cover on top of the omlet run when OH couldn't find her. Good luck with the new chicken
