Oh Sue thats really terrible for you. I don't have anything to say that hasn't already been suggested - just comiserations and I do hope she is back in the morning. :(:(:(:(:(:(

You asked about Mabel being by herself - sad to say but she will no doubt be fine. Our Georgie lost her friend Doris some time ago and didn't really seem to notice. she did sometimes seem a little lonely but I don't think its anything to do with not having Doris in particular , just that chickens are flock animals and aren't really meant to be on their own.

Of course, as soon as we got her some company she just attacked them and I have kept her separate from them ever since!

I do hope you have good news in the morning.

oh how awful - I'll be checking first thing in the morning to see if she has turned up. We thought we had lost Milly the other day - I felt sick to the pit of my stomach - she didn't even come to the rattle of the corn - and she is normally the first there. Thankfully she turned up an hour or so later - nothing like you are going through - I still have no idea where she was :?

Keeping everything crossed for you x
