Increase in pellet consumption.

Recommended Posts

Sorry for another topic.

I have noticed my hybrids are getting through much more feed. Now I guess it is Spring even though they have been laying since December, but their food pot is empty by lunchtime. I have some of the Mini trugs from Omlet and I give them 2 trugfuls of pellets a day. Is that enough? Too much or too little?

Sorry sound like a nookie but this is my first Spring.

I give them pellets and oyster shell available all the time, hens will eat more in spring and summer due to longer days and they are laying, the brown hybrids eat more than other breeds. be sure nothing else is eating their pellets

 Yep, robins and blackbirds here - all forming an orderly queue. If it's pellets the girls don't like - well harder where there's none as the wild birds aren't as fussy!

Biggest gannet here is the orpington - and partly to try and stop the wild birds eating if she can hoover the pellets up before they do.
