Luvachicken
Cleaning out my chickens the other day we came across a pretty yucky poop. I'm pretty certain that one of them must have eaten the mouse and then pooped it rather than it died in the run Quite cool how you can see it's teeth, ribs, feet and toe nails, in a gory sort of way. Anyone else found a poo like that ?
mollyripkim
OMG that is sort of amazing, no mine never done anything like that. They did find a field mouse one day and one ran around with it in her beak but ended up dropping it and it escaped.
Luvachicken
I think the likely culprit could be Tilly or Polly as they are the biggest. Still pretty gruesome though.
Lewis
Amazing! Since starting Uni I've become a little bit obsessed with bone studies and taxidermy, especially birds - more for the anatomy than anything. I bought a Muskrat skull yesterday, would love a whole mouse to go on my curiosities shelf.
Luvachicken
That's a shame Lewis because it went in the bin. You might be interested in this book though - and it does have a chicken, under domestic fowl - I really want this book. The lady spent 25 years drawing all of the skeletons. You may have seen her on Springwatch or Autumnwatch, can't remember which though. http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/0691151342/ref=rdr_ext_tmb I hope that's right, I don't have a helper right now

The Dogmother
Shout me if you want any deaders, Lewis; the cats are great with mice, and the dogs are in full hunting mode we'll be off ferreting soon, so you can have a bunny to dissect if you like. Lewis
luvachicken I was only talking about that book on Monday, someone I know breeds Serama and gives the good examples to Katrina van Grouw's husband (I believe) for drawings and studies. The Unfeathered Bird is on my Christmas wishlist That would be awesome C, thanks!
Olly
My friend had a 'thing' about skeletons, so when her cats dispatched a bluetit, she decided to retrieve the bones. She put it in a handy cardboard box, which happened to be the one that some electrical item had recently been delivered in. She left the box on the drive near her car while she went back into the house ... came out, and it had been nicked. We had much laughter imagining the thief's reaction when she/he opened the box. The Dogmother
That's true karma, Olly! Will give you a shout when I have some, Lewis; I can store them in the freezer if that helps.

You know where the TV remote goes to hide. I put my hand in and pulled it out and said oh my goodness someone on the forum has one of these,so it can't have been poohed, I must tell her it's a mummy ( as in Egyptian )
