Millie-Annie
We started chicken keeping purely to help ex-batts. We have had 10 over the last few years, plus a couple of hybrids. I now have Issey a Welsummer, Octavia an Orpington and Clara a Brahma I rehomed. I lost my last ex-batt Ivy in July. So I decided to enquire about more ex-batts and our local Wood Green animal centre rehomes them. They get them from the rehoming centres, and delouse them and flea them and two weeks later rehome them. Great idea I thought so I put my name down for three. Even chose the names, Phyllis, Dylis and Doris. So they ring and say, we have four chickens so if you would like to come and choose three. What???? How can I leave one behind. Oh we will get a couple from another centre to keep her company. Do they know anything about chickens I am wondering? Like thats going to work. So after a discussion with the other half, I ring them back and say, its ok, we will take all four. So now I need another name. I am thinking of Phyllis, Dylis, Polly and Dolly. I am also hoping that the problems of introductions might be better with four newbies, they can't all fight at once, can they?
chooksRCute
Lol, I'm read a few thread on here about morehens disease I like your thing, they're all fab names but if you were wanting to keep on with the "is" theme how about Mavis or Iris, and there's also Candice which is a bit of a cheat.. but still sounds right!
